about

Freshly derobed following their recent saunter across the catwalk of chaos with their last release “Catalogue Model”, London pop-punksters THE PRODS return to proudly exercise their technical wherewithal on their latest release “CAN’T GET ANYTHING TO WORK”.

The single explodes into the ether with an accompanying MUSIC VIDEO that documents the lads’ earnest efforts at grappling with our era’s mod-cons; all seemingly designed to make our lives easier, more efficient and enjoyable. The passion and heightened frustration elicited therein may well resonate with viewers of a certain demographic (if they can figure out how to follow a YouTube hyperlink).

Speaking of which, here it is! youtu.be/tTszwTPf-50

lyrics

Look at this phone
It’s got a camera and a torch
It’ll cook your dinner for ya
While it redesigns your porch
It’s got all the bells and whistles
It records me when I sing
I can even watch a movie
But how do I make the fucker ring?
I only want to call my Mum and wish her Happy Birthday

I’ve got this new car
Where do I put the key?
And where’s the blimmin’ handbrake?
Is there something wrong with me?
It’s all jazzy lights and big screens
More like a spaceship than a car
I just want to drive to Tesco’s
Not to Jupiter or bloody Mars
I only want to start the engine, is that too much to ask?

Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
I can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
I can’t get anything to work

I try to watch the footie
But I’ve got ten remote controls
I’m pushing buttons willy nilly
I’m missing all the goals
And now it’s turning up the brightness
And my sanity’s going down the pan
And what is Netflix anyway?
I feel like my bleedin’ Nan
I’m pining for the days of board games and casual conversation

Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
I can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
I can’t get anything to work

I only want to make my Mum proud, is that too much to ask?

Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
I can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
I can’t get anything

Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
I can’t get anything I can’t get anything to work
Can’t get anything
Can’t get anything to work
I can’t get anything
I can’t get anything to work
